Today in Sofia took place 2008 gay parade. The slogan was - “Me and My Family” . The Pride started at 16:30 on the Bridge behind the National Palace of Culture , went through central Sofia boulevards and ended up by the Red House at Karavelov Street.

Organizators from Gay rights group “Gemini” and the whole GLBT community in Bulgaria are very THANKFULL to the Mayor of Sofia, Gen. Borisov, and the Sofia Municipality for the reached consensus and understanding. The Police made A GREAT JOB, protecting fully - 100% , around 150 BRAVE Pride participants . Some of them wearing t-shirts with the slogan: “Beware of whom you hate, it might be someone you love.”

Homosexuality was decriminalised in the 1960s, the age of consent was equalised in 2002.Since the 1st of January 2004 Bulgaria adopted an anti-discrimination law, protecting very well the LGBT people in the country.

Bulgarian drag queen - Elza Pariny runs for the post of municipal councellor in the sea capital of Bulgaria - the city of Varna.
The local Election will be held on 28th of October. Elza call on all the citizens of Varna to vote for her with the bulletin for municipal councillors number - 52.
At the election , she stands in the list of the Union of Free Democrats(UFD) founded by Stefan Sofiyanski(Prime Minister in 1997 , three full mandates Mayor of Sofia , Euro Parliament observer till 2007).
Candidate for Mayor in Varna from UFD ticket is - Mr Dimo Giaurov(on the puicture below). His bulletin number is 16.
If Mr. Giaurov become the new Mayor of Varna , it is sure that next October will be held a gay pride pride march in and Gay Tourism will be developed in the Region. [Read more here...]

From 7th to 9th of September 2007 , the Bulgarian Association for Gay Sports (BAGS) , where Tangra Sports Group is a member, organizes an International Open LGBT Beach Football Championship at Gay Resort of Bulgaria - KAMCHIA.

LGBT Idea starts its second project Q-Files: International LGBTIQ Bibliographical System (www.qfiles.net).

The project aims at the systematization of publications on LGBT issues and studies.

Q-Files is a project of Stanimir Panayotov and LGBT Idea (www.lgbt-idea.org).

The long-term project of Q-Files is the creation and development of a bibliographical system whete in a multitude of languages people are to gather in the form of bibliographical lists references for publications devoted or related to the lives and problems of LGBTIQ people.

From July 31st tо 6th of August in hungarian capital will be held a volleball camp for Sports Group Tangra Team.

Host of the club in Budapest is the local team - GAY VOLLEY.

Registration deadline for Budapest volleyball camp is extended till 29th of July.

In the past years field of LGBTQ sport diversified like never before. Eastern European countries are starting to organize locally and get engage in int. gay sport movement. Transgender athletes and ethnic minorities are building up teams and self support structures... What used to be predominantly a gay sport scene of N. America and Western Europe is now changing to more complex global and trans-local movement that is much in need of reconceptualizing it's own structures, modes of operation and communication.
